Massachusetts lawmakers deadlocked on gay marriage.
Boston -as rival groups tried to drown each other out with chants of "Equality now!" and "Children deserve a mom and dad!" the Massachusetts Legislature on Wednesday night rejected an amendment to the state constitution that would have barred gay couples from marrying but allowed them to join in civil unions.
The rejection meant lawmakers will return to their historic constitutional convention at noon today, with a similar approach likely to be on the agenda as they try to clear a path through the divisive national debate over gay marriage.
If lawmakers go for an amendment, the earliest it could take effect would be November 2006, after a public vote. That would leave open the question of how to deal with gay couples who plan to marry starting may 17, but whose unions might have to be redefined after a public vote.
After 6 hours of often-contentious debate, political jousting and tense parliamentary maneuvering, House and Senate lawmakers voted 104-94 to kill a bipatrisan Senate compromise designed to overturn two recent court ruling declaring gay marriages constitutional.
Californians voted overwhelmingly against gay marriage four years ago. However, Assemblyman Mark Leno, a San Francisco Democrat, has said that he will introduce legislation today entitling gays and lesbians to wed.
Leno , one of five openly gay members of the California Lgislature, said he chose today because it is recongnized by gay advocacy groups as National Freedom to Marry Day.

Сейчас на Западе это реальная проблема. Нормальные люди В ШОКЕ, они не только устали бороться с этим безобразием, но уже и не знают как. В ТУПИКЕ, ПОТОМУ ЧТО подобное распростроняется как самая ужасная эпидемия.. Если ты с такими проблемами не встречаешься, что ж.. ты счастливчик!! =)) Но насколько мне известно, если энто захватило Запад, то и странам бывшего СССР тоже недолго благоденствовать осталось (потому что последние как промокашки, всё - даже музыку - стырили....

Я вот тоже надеялась, ан нет.. живучими оказались.. И самое поразительное в том, что как быстро растёт число гомосексуалистов при том, когда они сами не размножаются
