Actually the topic is about practicing English. Surely one cannot learn/practice a language by just cursing everything and everyone around him, or criticising everyone etc... The only important thing here is to chat... That's what we are doing here. And that's what people like you disturb us from

As for books, I am currently pretty much into science fiction. The last book I read was stories by Breadbery (sorry for spelling of the name, I am not sure if it's right)
I never enjoyed science fiction too much. Though we have a pretty rich library of this kind of books. When I had nothing to do this summer, I got down to it and liked it a lot. I guess, it's just the right time=)

My friend has it on english, but believe me, it's a hell on earth reading it, you don't even imagine how hard it is, I tried for 10 minutes and it's quite a strain..

One of my friends read it all and she loved it. I believe my English is good enough to read it up to the end. I read a lot in English.

Now not, he's not in Moldova..
There are different versions of translations of Lord Of The Rings, and I guess your friend read an easy one, the original version can hardly be read even with Oxford dictionary, since it does not have the word explanation..

I watch only in english cause i want to know, to learn new words, new synonims, new dialects!!! And if the movie is on Digital Versatile Disc I watch it with english subtitles!

There is a lot of english literature over at the Peace Corps center. So if you know any volunteers from over there you'll be able to get a lot of good stuff. I believe there must be the english version of "The Lord of the rings"


By the way. I just finished reading a novel by Harper Lee "To kill a mochingbird". It is an amazing story, believe me. I would suggest this book to everyone who is not all that fluent in English (like me), cause it's very easy to read and understand.

Yup. You'll need an invitation to get in i guess. They used to give a special visitor card to the people coming. (yeah it's all that serious)

By the way, i heard "work and travel" program is also a good way to improve your English skills. Does anyone know the companies that are working in this area over in Chisinau? I would apreciate any info...
