There's a great old russian book called "Чёрный Человек" by Василий Головачёв. Now that's something outstanding. At that time already he could expose such ideas. Is short it's about the commender of an intergalactic ship, that crashed into another one, ALIEN's one. It's not about the fight of them. He shows aliens from the good part. So survive and save the alien he had to connect himself to the aliens ship, so his own consciousness was interlaced with the aliens. In the book the writer shows how the commander started changing, thinking. It has lots of psychological moments too. Although I read it about 4 years ago, I still remember it, and I think I sould reread it again sometimes...
